Las Vegas was the place to be earlier this year as the International Security Conference and Exhibition, known as ISC West hosted an outstanding four day electronic security showcase for the North American security market. Almost 30,000 delegates attended the showcase exhibits, education and training sessions during the four day event. Breaking attendance records was not all that occurred in 2016. ISC West was an amazing venue to see the latest technology, network with industry colleagues and learn more about the electronic security industry. These opportunities combined for a fine week of professional development. The welcoming environment of Las Vegas is also uniquely positioned to accommodate and entertain such a diverse group of exhibitors and delegates. Many Canadians took in the event and enjoyed an escape from our colder early April climates. By all accounts, the 2016 ISC West show was a true success. The organizers and industry sponsors, including the Security Industry Association (SIA) hosted another fantastic event.
Attending industry events is crucial for several reasons. Perhaps the most compelling reason is to see the latest in industry technology on display. Connecting with exhibitors and having a hands-on demonstration of their latest hardware and software is important for everyone in our industry. Networking and connecting with industry colleagues is another reason to make these events a must on your calendar. Often times these networking opportunities are an excellent way to share best practices and develop new opportunities for your own market. Equally important, education opportunities at these events can provide value for those attending. Learning in general is a positive opportunity for development and growth. Perhaps the most compelling reason is that our clients expect us to be leading experts in our field. This expectation can only be met with being up to date on the latest in technology and solutions to address the ever changing security requirements. Being able to offer comprehensive solutions can only be achieved by keeping up with technology. The rapid advancement in IP based solutions continues to fascinate me as we become more connected with the Internet of Things (IoT).

Our team recently participated at the Security Canada Expo event in Ottawa and we were able to engage with supply partners and customers. Showcasing our solutions and services was another great example of how we continue to evolve to serve our clients.
