Accessibility

Accessibility at FCi

FCi is committed to providing our goods, services and facilities in a way that respects the dignity and independence of people with disabilities, and that gives people with disabilities the same opportunity to obtain, use and benefit from them as everyone else. FCi meets the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 and the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation.

Service Animals and Support Persons

People with disabilities may bring a guide dog or other service animal onto any part of our premises that is open to the public, unless the animal is excluded by law. If a service animal is excluded from an area by law, we will explain why and arrange another way to serve you. People with disabilities accompanied by a support person may enter together and will not be prevented from having access to their support person while on our premises. If an admission charge ever applies, we will tell you in advance what amount, if any, applies to a support person.

Accessible Formats and Communication Supports

On request, we will provide our documents, or the information in them, in an accessible format or with communication support. We will consult with you about what format or support suits your needs, we will provide it in a timely way, and we will not charge you more than we charge anyone else for the same document. To make a request, contact us at info@fci.ca or 613-244-6770.

Notice of Temporary Disruptions

If a facility or service that people with disabilities usually use is temporarily disrupted — for example our accessible entrance, accessible washroom, accessible parking or reception service — we will post a notice at our premises and on this page. The notice will say why the service is disrupted, how long we expect the disruption to last, and what alternatives are available. A copy of the steps we take when there is a temporary disruption is available on request.

Documents Available on Request

The following are available on request, and are available in an accessible format or with communication support on request, at no extra cost:

  • FCi Policy FCi-HR-01-009 Accessible Customer Service (includes our policies on service animals and support persons)
  • FCi’s Notice of Temporary Disruption procedure
  • FCi Policy FCi-HR-01-008 Accommodation on the Basis of Disability
  • FCi’s Accessibility Compliance Report
  • FCi’s Health and Safety Program

To request any of these, contact info@fci.ca or 613-244-6770.
